Communication

Communication is very important in an media industry.
So it is very important to understand the different ways you can to put your point across.
For example the most popular way is verbal communication, this is where you speak through your mouth so it produces sound and words. Another way to communicate is none verbal communication Non verbal is communicating through sign language,  body language and gestures without actually saying anything. For example waving at someone is saying hello or goodbye, Nodding is classed as saying yes etc.

However the main thing about learning how to communicate in a group is that you have to learn what makes good communication this can be done in many different ways for example   you have to Listen to one another so you can get their ideas down too. Make sure everybody is responding and giving their input. it is also important your environment that you are speaking in is appropriate to speak in for example you don't want to be talking in a church or in a grave yard about your idea's. Making sure you have clear speaking, can pronounce each letter of each word this can be done by practising what you want to say and make sure you have thought about it before you give out your idea. Because People may not understand the way you word a speech, so you have to watch the way you word something so everybody understand.
Lack of communication skills can result in giving someone the wrong message and Leading people to be misunderstood. Being unable to give clear communication will effect you in so many ways either if its not being able to give your idea’s/thoughts out effectively and then being misunderstood and loosing out on opportunities.

We did a task where we were put in groups of 5 people who we usually didn't work with. The task included having to make a tower of newspaper only using a few sheets of newspaper and duct tape, the challenge was to see who's tower can be the biggest and not fall over. However we were only allowed to speak for 5 minutes before we started the task and then during the task we had to use non verbal communication. So it was kind of difficult but our plan was to make 4 ‘sticks’ made out of newspaper and then we used 3 sticks as ‘legs’ and then the other one newspaper stick as the tower top we then secured it with a lot of duct tape. We  did extremely well and built the best newspaper tower, winning the other 3 groups.

Task 2: Planning the Show

Step into a world of horror and humiliation while we embarrass and put our celebrity's on a frightening adventure.
Each celebrity will wake up in an spine chilling, Dark cold room based underground and the only way to escape is to go through a numerous amount of room's which then they have to carry out sickly, disgusting task's each room getting tougher and tougher and really pushing our contestants will power.
While our celebrity's are working hard we are going to make sure their is a lot of jumps and surprises waiting for them  to really make sure they 'regret' agreeing coming on this show.

Deep under is going to be hosted by The gorgeous Jill Wagner and will be meeting each celebrity at the ending of the TV program to present them with their reward which will be an certain amount of money depending on how well they completed getting through the challenges, the money will then go to a charity of their choice. But IF the celebrity does fail the challenges their will be an consequence and if the celebrity does the consequence then they can still win an small amount of money for the charity of their choice.

 We are planning on broadcasting this show on ITV 1 because it is one of united kingdoms most popular TV Channel and we are going to broadcast this show at 9 pm on a Saturday to make sure we appeal for our target audience which will be late teens and hopefully mid adults as well. Putting deep under broadcast at this time and day will make it more appropriate because younger children wouldn't be watching TV at that time and a Saturday is a popular day for everyone to be relaxing from their previous week so it is more likely they are going to watch TV. We  are going to advertise deep under publicity so we have created a poster and a eye catching logo to make sure our show doesn't go unnoticed

Task 1: Ideas&discussions

As a group we watched a selection of reality television and talent shows which we then decided to compare and contrast each show to identify Common styles and themes within the genre.

Talent genre
A talent show normally includes attendants trying to impress judges by doing their talent such as singing,dancing, acting, playing an instrument etc. However even though this genre is very basic, different shows have different ways of presentation their show.
For example;

Britain's got talent allows any one to audition and get to try and persuade the 3 judges that they have a talent but the main judge they do actually have to try and impress is the audience as they are basically the most important judge. They vote and decide who gets to perform to the queen. I like this show because the acts are unpredictable some can be amazing and some can be silly, this is what makes it so interesting and funny and different to the other talent shows. Throughout the show, contestants must perform in front of the judges, and each year initial auditions have been held in front of a live audience. Auditions precede live semi-finals, where the final 45 perform nightly for a week in order to impress the British and Irish public. At the very end the auditions get to win a money prize and perform their act to the queen.
X factor is a British music TV show aimed at all ages but mainly teens or adults. They don’t have auditions like Britain's got talent, they have their first auditioned to come on the show but no longer can do the audition while the show is on telly. Who ever wins Factor get a large amount of money. I like this show because most new artistes are found on X factor so its nice being able to watch them succeed for the first time however x factor only allows their contestants to sing and do no other talent limiting their entertainment

The voice is an reality TV singing competition  the contestants have to stand on the stage and the judges must face away from the contestants if they like the singer they press the button and then turn around and face the contestant. I like this show because the judges aren't judging the person by their looks their only judging the person by their voice. The judges are famous celebrity's such as will.i.am, So I think that makes it more interesting especially towards teenagers/young adults who like the celebrity judges and then feel like they have someone to relate to while watching. There are 4 stages of wining the voice, once winning the voice they get a recording contract.

Docu-Soap

Docu-Soap is basically a TV show which is a documentary about peoples lives but it is built up for entertainment purposes so some of the footage is fake just to make it more interesting that is why its called a docu-soap because it has some fake real life footage such as easterners but it is actually true events unlike soaps. Here is the three most popular docu-soaps;

The only way is essex is BAFTA award-winning 'scripted reality' television soap opera based in Essex, England, focusing on a group of Essex characters. The drama unfolds against the backdrop of nail bars, wine bars, flash cars and designer gear. The  story lines are part real and part constructed it explains this by saying "real people in modified situations, saying unscripted lines but in a structured way."

Made in Chelsea is a BAFTA award-winning, structured-reality television series broadcast by E4 in the United Kingdom. Made in Chelsea is about the lives of young people who live in West London.The story lines are part real and part constructed just like the only way is Essex, this is the main theme in a docu-Soap

 Geordie Shore is a British reality television series broadcast on MTV. it is  Based in Newcastle and was first broadcast on 24 May 2011, It is the British spin-off of the American show Jersey Shore.  "Geordie" is the regional nickname given to the people of the Tyneside area of North East England. It follows the main theme for the docu-soap so the story lines are part real and part constructed.
